  • Democracy is based on an educated public. I have little faith that democracy will really work anywhere in the world. Canada perhaps, maybe some Scandinavian countries. But wherever religious fervor reigns (e.g., middle east, U.S.), it hasn't got a prayer (pun intended).

  • My gosh, this is the strongest group of photos I've ever seen on this site. Very difficult to choose a favorite. Some were visually compelling, some had great aesthetics, a couple were successful at very improbable timing, etc.
